Warwick Valley High School staff wins $1,052 science grant to restore Sanfordville pond

Warwick - Warwick Valley High School staff members Greg Lisack, Ken Kolwicz and Ed Sattler have won a Taconic IPA Science Education Grant Award. Their proposal, “Aquatic Ecology,” is one of eight winners among 27 entries. The $1,052 in funding will allow the three men, moderators and financial sponsors of the Warwick Valley High School Fishing Club, to continue improvements and to begin to restore the ecosystem at Sanfordville’s 3.62-acre pond. They where honored on May 26 by Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley at the Partnership in Education Awards program. Lisack is an assistant principal and Kolwicz is a special education teacher at the high school. Sattler is a teacher on special assignment for environmental, conservation and energy education for the school district.
