Warwick — This fall, the Warwick High School Drama Club will take a hiatus from its family theater series to present the comedy, “Dearly Departed,” in November. Set in the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, “Dearly Departed” follows the story of the Turpin family, who must come together after the death of the family’s patriarch, Ray-Bud. “Dearly Departed” will be performed Thursday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. nightly. For this production only, the Drama Club’s box office will not be in operation, and all tickets will be sold on the nights of the performances. For its annual musical production this March, the Drama Club will present the Stephen Schwartz Broadway hit, “Pippin.” One of Broadway’s most loved and produced musicals, this hip, tongue-in-cheek fairy tale chronicles the story of young Pippin in his quest to find a fulfilling and meaningful life. The energetic pop-influenced score bursts with one number after another, from ballads to dance numbers, including “Magic to Do” and “Corner of the Sky.” Tickets for “Pippin” will go on sale in mid-February when the club’s box office opens to take advance orders. Both productions will be directed by the club’s long-time advisor, Nick DiLeo. Further information for both shows will be released as the productions near.
