Warwick Valley Gardeners sweep state awards

Warwick Valley Gardeners club received numerous awards during the recent District 10 luncheon of the Federated Gardeners of New York State, including: First place Arbor Day Citation; first place Garden Therapy Award for therapy at Mt. Alverno; first place Historical Preservation Citation, “A Church Garden,” Amity Church; second place Civic Concerns Citation, “Welcome to Warwick @ Forester Ave,” Civic Beautification Project, “ Newark, N.J. Project;” Appreciation for Participation, “Native to NY” planting native trees and shrubs. The club also received a first-place award in the Edith Dangel Landscape Design for the Railroad Green plan.This will be submitted for a national award. Members of the club who attended the luncheon are: Linda Babcock, president; Joan Nagrod, Mary Bollenbach, Mary Pohlman and Ingrid Spence; second row, Brenda Harburger, Deanne Singer, Janice Geneti and Jane Madis, vice president.
