Warwick Valley ecumenical Lenten luncheons begin Feb. 13
WARWICK The Warwick Valley Ecumenical Council will host its annual series of Lenten luncheons every Wednesday beginning Feb. 13 through March 12 from noon to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Warwick United Methodist Church on Forester Avenue. Each week, attendees hear a message from a local clergy person. This year’s theme is “What the Cross Means to Me.” The speakers will give a message out of their own faith tradition about the meaning of Jesus’ death. Scheduled speakers are: Feb. 13: The Rev. Chris Yount of the Warwick United Methodist Church Feb. 20: The Rev. Vernon Peters of the Union AME Church Feb. 27: Clement Warren of the Bellvale Community March 5: Father Patrick Buckley of St. Stephens Church March 12: The Rev. Elizabeth Williams of the Bellvale and Sugar Loaf United Methodist churches Tickets are $7 per person at the door and a nursery will be provided. For more information, call 986-1030.
