Warwick U14 boys' soccer team defeats Highland Scorpions

    Warwick n On Sunday, Sept. 16, the Warwick boys’ soccer taeam traveled to Highlands to take on the Scorpions. Three minutes into the game Warwick’s Ryan Bedross scored when Cameron Burke-Simmonds served up a beautiful corner kick into the center of the box. On the very next possession Ryan stole the ball from the Highland team and dribbled past the defenders finding the back of the net to put Warwick ahead 2-0. Cameron Burke-Simmonds of Warwick took the next possession down the field and scored for the Wildcats. Highlands Adam Lauback found the upper-left-hand corner of the net; it was a beautiful free kick just out of the reach of Warwick’s keeper Lucas Durland. Within minutes of Highlands goal, Warwick’s Kyle Reilly scored on a throw in from Thomas O’Daniels. Brennen Leon split the defenders with a perfectly played through ball to Cameron Burke-Simmonds who quickly found the back of the net to put Warwick ahead 5-1. Left foot shots by Wildcats Jay Nazari and Thomas O’Daniels also found the back of the net to put Warwick ahead 7-1 at the half. Warwick’s defenders and midfielders Jeff Rappaport, John Ward, Taylor Decker, Evan Bailey, Dylan Liguori, Kyle Reilly, Shane Ginley and Brennen Leon controlled the ball and game, passing up and back with ease and confidence. Deep into the second half, Highland Adam Lauback again managed to score. Jay Nazari quickly answered to that score, by dribbling the ball through the Highland defenders and scoring again for Warwick. The final score on that beautiful, sunny, cool and clear Sunday afternoon was Warwick 8, Highland 2. Next Sunday afternoon, the Wildcats United will travel to Shrub Oak to take on the Panthers.
