Warwick schools roll out new e-mail alert system
Warwick - On the heels of its new Web site launch in November, the Warwick Valley School District has recently added an e-mail alert system to its technological upgrades. The new system, called School News Notifier (SNN), is an opt-in e-mail alert notification system whereby parents and residents can sign up to receive e-mails from the district in the case of school closings, delayed openings, early dismissals and other emergencies. Users can choose to receive these alerts and can unsubscribe at any time. E-mail addresses are kept confidential. Currently, the district is offering emergency notifications, but that could expand in the future to offering individual school news, sports news and other options, should the user choose to receive these. Signing up is easy. Go to the school Web site at www.warwickvalleyschools.com and click on the SNN logo on the right side of the homepage. After creating a profile (name, e-mail address and password), you will be all set.
