Warwick Police Department undergoing renovations

Warwick The Warwick Police Department facility on the lower level of the Town Hall building will be undergoing $18,600 worth of renovations for the next several weeks. According to Chief Thomas McGovern Jr., the improvements will include a larger and more comfortable waiting room, an expanded communications center, additional security and utilization of the area that was formerly the Senior Citizens Center. Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton requests the public to be patient and to follow the detour signs when visiting the station. Sweeton also said the department also has received a donation of furniture and equipment from IBM and St. Anthony Community Hospital, which donated computer equipment that it was replacing. “We are sorry for any inconvenience,” he said. “However, these renovations will allow us to serve you more efficiently.”
