Police call it ‘suspicious’ Warwick — Warwick police and the New York State Police are investigating the death of a Warwick man who was found dead in his Sleepy Valley Road apartment late Tuesday morning. Christopher J. Binsack, 52, had lived in one of the apartments at the old Sleepy Valley Farm, 117 Sleepy Valley Road, just a few months. He moved to Warwick late last year from Long Island. According to Warwick Police Chief Thomas McGovern, the landlord noticed a broken window on the building where the man was living. He tried to contact Binsack several times and noticed that both of his cars were parked there. Using a pass key, the landlord went into the apartment and found Binsack’s body at about 10 a.m. Tuesday. He was last seen alive by a neighbor just hours earlier at 12:30 a.m. McGovern said there were no obvious signs of a cause of death. Two other windows in the apartment had also been broken. An autopsy was performed Wednesday morning at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. The results were inconclusive, police said. Police are now awaiting toxicology reports, which could take a couple of weeks. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of the death being a homicide, a suicide, or the result of an illness. The Town of Warwick Police Department, the New York State Police, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office is continuing the investigation.
