Warwick grad dispatched to Iraq

Lt. James D. Paffenroth, USN, son of David and Wendy Paffenroth of Pine Island, has been augmented to Iraq from his command at the Nashville Recruiting District in Nashville, Tenn. Paffenroth left for Iraq on July 1, 2006, after several weeks of training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Many naval officers have been tapped to serve with the ground forces in Iraq. His tour will be approximately one year. When he returns, he will complete his shore duty with the Nashville Recruiting District. Paffenroth is a 1996 graduate of Warwick Valley High School and a 2000 graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. He was commissioned to the Navy in December 2000.
