WARWICK-Warwick firemen were given high praise from the mayor and occupants of a Main Street building for their quick response to contain a fire on Main Street on Nov. 11, Veterans Day. The fire apparently started in the Samaya Cafe on the main floor. Firemen used ladders placed in Wawayanda Creek to reach the fire in the exterior wall at the rear of 18 Main St. Members of the Warwick Ambulance Corps were on the scene and treated some firemen for exhaustion and minor cuts. Charlie Mondello, owner of the building, his tenants and Mayor Michel Newhard lauded the effort of emergency crews. (See letters to the editor on page 10.)
