Warwick firefighters answered 32 calls during June

    Warwick - Warwick volunteer firefighters responded to 32 emergency calls in June, including seven motor vehicle accidents, according to the monthly report prepared Capt. Michael Contaxis and firefighter Kevin Columba. With June’s numbers, the department has answered 232 calls during the first six months of 2011. Here’s how the 32 calls in June broke down: Automatic alarm: 11 Motor vehicle accidents: 7 Smoke investigation: 4 Carbon monoxide alarm: 3 Hazardous condition: 3 Mutual aid: 2 Wires down and burning: 1 Medevac landing zone: 1 Meeting The next district meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16, 8 p.m., at Station #1, 25 Church St. (located near the Colonial Avenue end of Forester Avenue).
