Warwick - The Warwick Fire Department Scholarship Committee recently awarded scholarships to two members. Both are graduates of Warwick High School. Firefighter Stephen Schork, age 18, is a member of the Excelsior Hose Company and also an Eagle Scout. He plans to study engineering at SUNY Orange and hopes to join the United States Coast Guard after completing college. Firefighter Michael Ludwig, age 18, belongs to Engine Company No. 3 and also volunteers his time as a member of the Warwick Ambulance Corps. Mike is pursuing a five-year engineering degree at Binghamton University. College-bound members of the department and children of members are eligible to apply for the funds. The scholarships are awarded based on each student’s community service, academic performance, extracurricular participation and an essay submitted to the committee.
