Warwick FD plans carnival for first day of summer, then parade on July 1

Warwick — The Warwick Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate the first day of summer with a Summer Carnival in Memorial Park on Forester Ave. in Warwick. The carnival will run from Wednesday to Saturday, June 21 to 24. Gates will open at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. The event will feature rides, games, food, a car show, fireworks, and amusements for the entire family. Friday night will be Wrist Band Night, and anybody wearing a firemen’s shirt will be entitled to unlimited carnival rides for $10. Saturday’s activities will include a car show at noon, featuring more that 50 antique vehicles, and end with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. The department is a volunteer organization, established in 1869.
