Warwick - The Warwick Town Democratic Committee has endorsed Bill Olsen and Kurt Emmerich as candidates for seats on the Warwick Town Board. “Both Bill and Kurt are long term residents of Warwick,” Irene Schacher, co-chair of the town Democratic committee, said in a press release announcing the endorsements. “They love and value this town and want to play an active role in making Warwick the best it can be. Proven histories of effective Warwick service and strong commitment to open government are the bedrock of their qualifications. Olsen is currently a college teacher. He is a retired senior scientist of the International Paper Research Center in Sterling Forest, as well as a past member of the Warwick Village Board and the Town Conservation Board. He is a member of the Warwick Village Planning Board and the Greenwood Lake Commission. Emmerich is a lifelong resident of Warwick, a professional engineer, a past school board member and president and a part-time tree farmer. “Kurt and Bill will advocate for all residents and seek to add balance to Town government by encouraging meaningful participation,” Schacher added. “Broadening town government will strengthen the connection to town residents, and in turn, will strengthen our community of villages and hamlets. The elections are in November.
