Warwick — Town officials and representatives from the business community joined a team of counseling professionals just prior to Christmas for the grand opening of Warwick Counseling Services. Three professional counselors now maintain their offices under one roof at 12 Oakland Ave. in the Village of Warwick. Devon Donohue Donohue, whose private practice is New Hope Counseling, is a licensed mental health counselor. She graduated from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass., with a masters degree in expressive therapies. She is also a registered art therapist and works with young children ages four and up, adolescents, adults and families. Anna Girgenti Girgenti, a graduate of Lesley University, has a masters degree in counseling psychology and is a licensed mental health counselor. She works with children ages six and older, adolescents, adults and families. Girgenti has also completed additional training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Girgenti and Donohue said they offer an approach to therapy that is positive, solution-focused and compassionate. They also offer faith-based counseling for those who are interested. James Einstman Jr. Einstman, a licensed master social worker and alcohol and substance abuse counselor, earned his masters degree at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Work. He has more than a decade of experience treating individuals with incapacitating addiction and mental health disorders. Einstman primarily works with adults and adolescents and their families in both individual and group sessions. Einstman said that he helps his clients identify the internal and external factors motivating them to seek treatment and he knows that the positive involvement of the client’s family members and close friends plays a large role in the success of any treatment. All of the counselors suggest that anyone interested in making a fresh start for 2012 and having some extra support along the way should call 986-9499 and leave a message. The counselor you wish to speak with will return your call within 24 hours.
