In addition to wine tastings, musical entertainment will be provided under the tent in the Railroad Ave. courtyard. Guests are invited to dance or just listen to the music of recording artist Gerard Carelli and his six-piece ensemble. And everyone will receive a commemorative wineglass. Tickets are $30 and are available at each of the participating Railroad Avenue merchant locations. Proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to The Illustrious Theatre Company of Warwick and the Warwick Summer Arts Festival. The company, which states that it is the largest privately owned waste collection and recycling company in the capital region of New York, with operations from Harriman to Ticonderoga, currently collects recycle and other waste throughout the Town of Warwick. Several years ago, County Waste acquired Warwick Sanitation, a local firm owned and operated by Guy Bogart, who joined the new company. Since then, the company has been a strong supporter of Warwick events including Applefest. “When County Waste took over handling the garbage collection at Applefest,” recalled Garrett Durland, president of Seely & Durland, Inc. and a member of the Applefest Committee, “I asked them if they would consider being a corporate sponsor. The thinking was that having their receptacles throughout the festival was great promotion for their company. There was no hesitation from the owner, Scott Earl, who offered to contribute $2,500. County Waste is now our lead sponsor and we greatly appreciate the company’s generosity and contribution to Applefest.” For additional information about County Waste call 355-4500.
