Vision-Live to raise funds for Sudan relief efforts
WARWICK - At Vision Community Church’s last VISION-LIVE, (formally Vision Open Mic) the proceeds, totaling $500, were sent to the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) relief effort in South Darfur. The new goal is $ 550.00 for the same cause. Vision Community Church will again be hosting VISION-LIVE on Friday, March 9. Doors open at 6:50 p.m. The show runs from 7 - 10 p.m. The cover charge is $5. For two years, Vision-Live has enabled local musical teen talent to showcase their passion for performing to a supportive audience. Held at the Warwick Valley Community Center (Doc Fry), it draws bands from the local area. There will be five bands performing, including Life Like the Movies, Left to Chance, and A.O.T.D. (Afraid of the Dark). Interested bands are encouraged to contact Caroline Beischer, event coordinator at 986-5883. The cover charge is $5. The event is always well supervised and is geared to high school and middle school age students. Vist www.visiblechurch.org for more information.
