Vision Community Church children's Christmas show raises $1,400

Warwick - The children at Vision Community Church raised $1,400 for The Center for Missing and Exploited Children by acting, singing and dancing about the true meaning of Christmas before a packed house Dec. 9 at Sanfordville Elementary School. Three years ago, Director Pam Heatley first imagined creating a dinner theater for children at Christmastime, offering kid-friendly food and a Christmas show. Music Director Amy Smith was on board right away. Others have joined the team after experiencing the event like Producer Laura Poelmann. Since then, the production has grown to more than 40 young people and 39 adults. “After seeing some disturbing stories on the news, I decided that we should use the event to raise money for The Center for Missing and Exploited Children,” said Heatley. “Although it is crucial to tell our children about things like stranger danger, we also need to teach them that they can make a difference in the world.” To find out more about Vision Community Church, visit its Web site at Visiblechurch.org or call 986-4333.
