Village of Warwick Recreation Department announces summer programs and registration

    Programs are free for any child who lives in the Town of Warwick Warwick - Registration for the 2011 Village of Warwick Summer Recreation Programs will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21 and 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations: At Stanley Deming Park: Park program, basketball, football and cheerleading. At Warwick High School Track Pavilion: Track. At Warwick Middle School: Tennis and soccer. All recreation programs are free to any child between the ages of 5-12 that lives in the Town or Village of Warwick. Bring immunizations records for the Park Program. The program will run from June 27 through July 29. All recreation programs are free to any child between the ages of 5-12 who lives in the Town or Village of Warwick. Here’s a rundown of activities: Park program: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Stanley Deming Park. Arts and crafts, recreational games, and team sports. Track: Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m. -11 a.m. at Warwick High School track. Basic fitness, stretching and running skills. Introduced to different field events and involved in cardiovascular activities. Tennis: Monday-Thursday 9 a.mm-11 a.m. at Warwick Middle School Tennis Courts. Soccer: Monday and Wednesday 5 to 6 p.m. at Warwick Middle School. Basic rules and skills of soccer. Participate in game play. Football: Monday and Wednesday 5 to 6 p.m. at Warwick High School. Basic rules, skills and fundamentals of non-contact football. Basketball: Tuesday and Thursday 5 to 6pm at Stanley Deming Basketball Courts. Teach basic rules and skills of basketball. Participate in lead up games. Cheerleading: Monday and Wednesday 5 to 6 p.m. at Warwick High School Track. Teach basic skills, cheers and dance routines of cheerleading. Due to the construction on the pool roof at Warwick High School, there will not be any swim lessons this summer. Swim lessons will resume next summer.
