    Jan. 7 At 8:39 p.m. Vernon Police responded to a 911 call reporting that a man was shot at a home on Kewaskum Road in the Highland Lakes section of the township. Officers found Mareck Lacki, a 47-year-old township man, dead of an apparent gunshot wound. An investigation revealed that Lacki was a guest at the home on Kewaskum Road along with several other people who were attending a party. An investigation led to the arrest of the homeowner, Richard Gorski, a 43-year-old tree service worker. He has been charged with manslaughter and sent to Sussex County Jail on $200,000 bail. Jan. 8 At approximately 9:28 p.m. Mountain Creek employees reported that someone entered the guest services area of Mountain Creek and displayed an automatic handgun. This suspect left with a bag containing a small amount of cash and was last seen leaving the area on foot. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, approximately 5’6” tall with a birthmark on his cheek. The suspect was wearing a black jacket with a light colored hood.
