Ultimate Sambo moves to Sports Fitness and Fun in Florida

FLORIDA - Owners Vlad and Yvonne Koulikov recently announced that Ultimate Sambo Mixed Martial Arts Academy of Florida New York has moved within the Village from 133 North Main Street to Sports Fitness & Fun located at 1743 Route. 17A. Sports Fitness & Fun, a 41,000 square foot facility, which boasts a world class total fitness environment, is now home to Ultimate Sambo. “We would like to thank all of our students for being a part of the Ultimate Sambo family and we look forward to training together in our new location,” said Yvonne Koulikov. “And Sports Fitness and Fun has also offered a discounted membership rate for all our Ultimate Sambo Students.” Owner and chief instructor Vlad Koulikov explained that the art of Sambo comes from his native Russia and has produced many of the world’s martial arts champions, not only in Sambo, but also in Judo, Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling as well as Full Contact Fighting. “The techniques of Sambo are so vast and all encompassing that there is something to be gained by anyone wishing to train,” he said. “Not only does the practitioner acquire the most effective self defense techniques, but through training, develops coordination, builds muscle mass, and maximizes cardio efficiency.” Training in Sambo is designed to teach students practical self defense and focuses on proper throws, take downs, deadly striking, effective grappling skills, and various chokes and submissions. “It’s the most comprehensive form of martial art,” he said. Master Koulikov was the 1989 Moscow Regional Sambo Champion and both a Gold and Silver medallist in the former USSR National Sambo Championships. He is also an American Freestyle Sambo Champion.
