‘Ultimania' charity basketball game between Warwick teachers returns March 7

    Warwick - The twelfth annual “Ultimania” charity basketball game between the Warwick Valley High School faculty and the Middle and Elementary School teachers is scheduled for Friday, March 7, in the high school gym. Doors open at 6 p.m. Prior to the game, there will be a slam dunk competition. There also will be the district-wide free throw shooting finals and half-court shot contest. The evening includes an appearance from the Warwick Valley School cheerleaders to energize the crowd. At halftime, the audience is invited to dance to the music provided by Storm DJ Steve Scherer. A concession stand is available at halftime to raise money for various charities. Proceeds from the game will be split between Warwick Lions Club and Warwick Valley Teachers Association. The Lions will use the money for community projects which support the community. Money raised by WVTA will be earmarked for high school scholarships. Tickets are $7 at each of the schools in the Warwick Valley School District. A limited amount of tickets will be available at the door for $8. The snow date is Wednesday, March 19.
