Two die in collision on Route 17; infant survives

    Goshen - On Tuesday Oct. 2, at 12:40 p.m., a two-car accident occurred on Route 17 in the Town of Goshen, leaving two occupants of the vehicles dead and three, including a four-month-old child, injured. The accident occurred on Route 17 approximately .25 miles east of exit 125 when Chain Moskovitz, the operator of a 1997 Chevy Lumina, drifted off the west shoulder of Route 17 eastbound and lost control of the vehicle. According to State Police, the vehicle crossed both lanes of eastbound traffic before entering the center median and traveling into the westbound lanes of travel where it began to spin out of control. A 2007 Toyota Camry operated by Jossellne Louis-Paul struck the vehicle in the driving lane of State 17 westbound. Chain Moskovitz, as well as his wife Fraidy Altman Moskovitz, both from Brooklyn, were pronounced dead on scene while their four-month-old child was transported to Hackensack Medical Center for precautionary measures. Jossellyne Louis-Paul, as well as her passenger Wilet Lamande, were transported to Orange Regional Medical Center’s Arden Hill Campus in Goshen for treatment for neck, back and chest injuries.
