Middletown—The Orange County area now has a chapter of Trout Unlimted, a coldwater conservation organization whose mission is to conserve, protect and restore coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. The Neversink Watershed Chapter No. 749 of Trout Unlimited was named by the founding members after the Neversink River, which is the adopted body of water of this new chapter. The chapter has already conducted its first project on the Neversink, cleaning up and removing trash from public access points in and around the D&H Canal Museum. Monthly meetings are currently held on Saturdays. Anyone interested in membership can contact Jeff at 754-7456 or pick up a Trout Unlimited membership application at Gander Mountain’s fishing department.
