Town plans mock disaster drill at high school for April 29
Warwick - The Town of Warwick, in conjunction with emergency service personnel, will hold a mock disaster drill on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Warwick Valley High School. According to information from Supervisor Michael P. Sweeton’s office, this is an effort to test the town’s disaster preparedness plan and revise it if necessary. Among the agencies that will be involved are fire and ambulance personnel, the Warwick Police, the Department of Public Works, Warwick school administrators and St. Anthony Community Hospital. In other town news: The Warwick Little League will kick off the 2006 season on Saturday, April 22, with a parade from Village Hall to Memorial Park starting at 10 a.m. A public hearing entitled “Rules for Park Use” will be held on Thursday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall. The next regular meeting of the Town Board will follow. The Town of Warwick is seeking qualified applicants for the position of deputy commissioner in the Department of Public Works. Experience in road construction, parks development and maintenance as well as employee management skills are required. Computer proficiency is highly desirable.
