Warwick - A new section of the Town of Warwick’s Web site was created to make it easier for residents to find the newly adopted “Community Preservation Project Plan.” According to information from Supervisor Michael P. Sweeton’s office, “This plan lays out a very clear strategy for the protection of our resources here in Warwick.” The information can be found at: townofwarwick.org/townhall/communitypreservationproject. Sweeton also said that the town will be adding more information to Warwick’s municipal channel 21 bulletin board on the Cablevision System. In other items from Sweeton’s office: •Close to 600 people attended the town’s recent sixteenth annual senior picnic. “I want to personally thank all the volunteers, donators, workers and elected officials who pitched in to make this a success,” the supervisor said. •Literacy volunteers of Western Orange County will hold a benefit entitled an “Evening of Scrabble” at the Southwinds Ballroom from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14. Call 341-5460 for details. •“It is a very sad time in Warwick as we lost a piece of our magic as Evelyn Lord passed from our Valley. Life is full of special people who touch us in ways that are sometimes subtle and sometimes extraordinary. Evelyn Lord did both with a smile, kind word, or helping hand. While she will be missed, her mark on Warwick will be remembered every time we open The Dispatch.”
