Three new businesses open

Pine Island —Three new Pine Island businesses celebrated their Grand Openings with ribbon cutting ceremonies on Oct. 9. Carleen and Dave Kutyla, owners of C and D’s Old World Bagels in Mitchell’s Corners in the Village of Warwick, opened a second shop at the intersection of County Route 1 and Liberty Corners Road, next door to Green Valley Tack. C and D’s Old World Bagels offers home-made, hand-rolled bagels and fresh ground coffee, including flavored coffees and iced coffee. They also sell croissants, cookies, muffins and deli sandwiches. The shop is open seven days a week except Valentine’s Day and Christmas, 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Mother Earth Nail Spa has opened in the upper level of the Drew Garage Building at 610 County Route 1. Owner Cindy Asala uses only non-toxic, earth-friendly materials so the spa is free of chemical odors. Asala provides manicures, pedicures and paraffin treatments and sells gifts for and environmentally conscious people. Asala, a trained massage therapist, has also opened Orange County’s first Zero Gravity Relaxation Zone in the same building. Zero gravity relaxation is a form of flotation therapy used to relieve stress, fatigue and pain. The spa and relaxation zone are open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Monday by appointment only.)
