Three killed in collision with tractor trailer

    PORT JERVIS — Three teens were killed on the afternoon of June 2 when the car they were riding collided with a tractor trailer, police said. The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. when the car 17-year-old Sara Abramowitz was driving went through a median and collided with a tractor trailer on Interstate 84 in Port Jervis, about 125 miles southwest of Albany. Abramowitz and two passengers, 18-year-old Kathleen Decker and 18-year-old Stephanie Conklin, all from Port Jervis, were pronounced dead at the scene, said State Police Sgt. David Malone. A third passenger, 17-year-old Shawn Donnelly of Port Jervis, was taken to Westchester County Medical Center and treated for injuries. His condition was not known. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, Malone said. Malone said it was not yet know why Abramowitz lost control of the car.
