The pure fun of Moving Up Day' at Park Avenue
Warwick - Park Avenue’s fifth grade Moving Up Day can be described in two words: Pure fun. With the hard work and help of many parents and teachers, this day was packed with ice cream, games, cotton candy, popcorn, a great DJ and other fun essentials. June 15, 2006, will be remembered always. We had water balloon tosses and flag football. No occasion can be without the Cotton Eye Joe, which we all enjoyed. Tug of War, potato sack races and the Mummy Wrap were other favorites. The memory book and DVD so generously put together by parents reminded us of how we changed over the years. “This is the coolest part of fifth grade,” said Julia H. “Today is the day we’ve waited for all year,” Charlotte C. agreed. As we move on to sixth grade, we will all remember this day for the rest of our lives. Jess Sander was a cub reporter for The Warwick Advertiser, and wrote about events and students at Park Avenue Elementary during the past school year.
