The Polka King and Inspire do it again

GOSHEN What do good home-style food, music by none other than Jimmy Sturr himself, and the Saturday before Thanksgiving all have in common? To many it means the annual Inspire Foundation Holiday Ball. On Saturday, Nov. 19, Inspire held its annual dinner dance fundraiser featuring Jimmy Sturr & his Orchestra. The foundation was able to raise about $32,000 with the help of their sponsors and a guest list of almost 300 people. Sponsorships from community minded businesses included Advest, Myles Financial Services, Security Mutual Life, Provident Bank, Dempsey Steel Pipe, Multee Apparel, and Nugent & Haeussler, with special sponsorships of hors d’oeuvres from Wallace & Berry Associates, and centerpieces from A. C. Moore of Middletown. The night included guest speaker Jennifer Brenner, parent of a recent Inspire Kids Preschool graduate. Jen and husband Will Brenner joined daughter, Carsen Brenner - the 2005 Holiday Ball Princess - to share their experiences of how Inspire has helped Carsen and the entire family. The ball ended around midnight, sending attendees home with big band music echoing in their ears. The funds raised will help provide Inspire, officially known as Orange County Cerebral Palsy Association, provide a broad range of programs and services for people of all ages who have special challenges.
