Teen volunteers make repairs to skate park

Warwick - Last Saturday was pretty hot - but not too hot for some teens to volunteer their time to help fix up the skate park. Fourteen kids turned out to help Village Trustee Eileen Patterson and Mayor Michael Newhard paint the equipment at the skate park in Veteran’s Memorial Park. It took less than four hours but the results were magnificent. With paint donated by Wadeson’s and parent Joe Heidecke replacing railings and repairing the fence, Patterson was more than pleased with the result. “It was a really fun morning and I think the park looks great,” she said. “More importantly, it is the work of these kids that shows how much they appreciate the skate park and it shows their willingness to help keep it in shape.”
