Warwick — On Tuesday, May 16, St. Stephens School and Parish will host their second annual Taste of the Town. The family-friendly event drew over 1,700 patrons last year, who were treated to a number of “tastes’” from local restaurants and purveyors. Restaurants planning to participate this year include: The Landmark Inn, The Iron Forge Inn, Spring Street Market, Halligans, Frank’s Pizza, Willow Cafe, Pennings Farm Market, Jean Claude’s Patisserie, The Copperbottom, The Pioneer, Lisa’s Cookie Shop, Janet’s Quality Baked Goods, Greg’s Place, Carmine’s, and Park Place. More restaurants will be added, as well as local wineries. “We have added an additional 30 feet to our tent this year, and added a dedicated seating area to try to help alleviate some of the congestion we had last year,” said chairperson Mary Juliano. “ We also plan to rework our over all layout so the lines move quickly.” The focus is more on the “food events” and the judging of the fare. Bobby Lerz of Hospitality Innovations will facilitate the food judging. Co-chair Karen Pinkham noted, “ Last year our restaurants worked very hard to help make our event a success. We had a small judging event for them. However, we did not effectively promote it, before or after the event. This year we plan to give credit where credit is due, to the restaurants.” Taste of the Town will feature local entertainment, beer, wine, soda, coffee and water. Tickets will be available by Friday, April 14, at St. Stephens School and Parish at 75 Sanfordville Road, and at Frazzleberries on Main Street, both in Warwick.
