Sunday school relief efforts

For over six weeks, the students of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church Sunday School collected supplies that went into making more than 40 emergency school relief kits that will be distributed to school age children around the world through the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). In addition, several sewing kits and layette kits were completed. Some of the youth also joined in knitting sweaters for the layette kits. Pastor Mary Howell recently presented the kits at the New York Annual Conference to be shipped to the UMCOR Center. This is the second year the students have participated in the emergency relief kit program. (Photo provided by Charlotte Mifsud, superintendent of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church Sunday School)
