Sugar Loaf youngsters raise $700 for humane society
SUGAR LOAF If you attended the Fall Festival in Sugar Loaf last weekend, you probably came across some passionate children once again raising money for their favorite charity. A group of local animal lovers hosted their third annual bake sale to benefit the Warwick Humane Society. Their efforts between two groups selling baked goods on Saturday and Sunday raised more than $700 for the shelter. The baked goods, including a variety of items like zucchini bread, brownies, cookies, pumpkin spice muffins and carrot cake, were all donated by local parents supporting our annual event. The kids get so excited to help the homeless animals and look forward to this event all year. The event’s leaders, Sharyn Wander, Inez Freund, Jen Burnett and Lorraine Cleary, want to thank everyone for their extreme generosity in this difficult economy - from the bakers to the event-goers.
