The Youth Group from the Sugar Loaf United Methodis Church participated in a world-wide event on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, called the SouperBowl of Caring. This organization raises awareness about world hunger. It is the sixth year the church Youth Group has participated in the program. The young people made two kinds of homemade soup which they sold and served to members of the Sugar Loaf UMC congregation. Proceeds of $329, along with 66 canned items, will be donated to the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry. The young people also made a note of special thanks to Janets Quality Baked Goods, 29 Main St., Florida, for donating all the rolls served at the event.
