Girl Scout Troop 253 in Warwick collected 826 pairs of shoes for the needy. It took two vehicles to bring the 800 pounds of footwear to Groo’s shoe store in the town of Wallkill. The store prepared the shoes for distribution to various agencies and charities. “We were very grateful that we had so many people so willing to give up their used shoes for donation,” said Troop Leader Lorraine Swanson. “This made our shoe drive very successful.
