Students at Golden Hill Elementary working on their green thumbs

Florida During the week of April 24 to 28, each class of children in kindergarten, first and second grades at Golden Hill Elementary School planted a class garden. John Lupinski, Orange County Farm Bureau president, along with his wife Diana Lupinski, who is the bureau’s Agriculture in the Classroom coordinator, came to the school to plant vegetables with the children. Seeds were donated by Carol Korey of Stokes Seeds. The vegetables which were planted were green and red leaf lettuce, spinach, and radishes - all of which will be ready for harvest by the end of school in June. “It is such a pleasure to see the school children interested in the planting of their gardens. It’s our pleasure to help them,” stated John Lupinski to one of the teachers.
