Striking up the band at Sanfordville

Warwick - At Sanfordville Elementary School the students in band have been working hard for five months for their two up coming concerts. This is the first year the fifth graders have been invited to the Warwick Valley School District combined band concert, where every band in the school district will play. This concert will be held at the Warwick Valley High School on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. The second is the Sanfordville spring concert, also at the Warwick Valley High School, with the Sanfordville band, chorus, and strings on Thursday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Band students are faced with many challenges - like playing together, keeping your place when reading sheet music, and finding where you are when you lose your place. Some of the student’s favorite things about band are playing and practicing, finding different parts and playing well. The band members wouldn’t play as well as they do now if they didn’t have Mrs. Ashley Head, the band teacher, and Ms. Lara Hansen, the band student teacher, to help and provide music instructions.
