Still tasty after all these years

WARWICK - It seems that it never rains during the annual Taste of Warwick. And the 12th celebration of the popular fall social event held on Tuesday evening, Sept. 13, was no exception. It was unseasonably warm but a pleasant evening nevertheless as guests strolled around the big tent on the picturesque grounds of the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery at 114 Little York Road. The visitors sampled gourmet dishes and wine while enjoying live musical performances both outdoors and inside the winery. The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsors A Taste of Warwick as a showcase of the region's best restaurant chefs, caterers and markets. The event is hosted by Warwick Valley Winery and, this year, tent sponsors were Gilsenan Designs, Newhard's, Realty Group, Inc. and Corporate Impressions. As the Taste of Warwick highlights local cuisine, it also contributes to a sense of community. In an elegant candle-lit tent under the stars, guests can enjoy the music and sample local wines and food while meeting their friends and neighbors. This year's participating restaurants and caterers included Bellvale Farms Creamery, Bobolink Dairy, Crystal Inn, Dairy Swirl, Iron Forge Inn, Janet's Quality Baked Goods, Jean-Claude's Patisserie & Dessert Café, Landmark Inn, Pamela's Traveling Feast, Pioneer, Quaker Creek, W. Rogowski Farm, Spring Street Market, Tokyo Plum House and Zana D. Both Peck's Wines & Spirits and the Warwick Valley Winery served local and regional wines. Corwin Florist, General's Garden, Grammy's Garden and Scheuermann Greenhouse provided the floral arrangements. "We appreciate all those who participate and who take time away from their own businesses to make our annual Taste of Warwick a success," said Linda Glohs, executive director of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. "We urge everyone in our community to support them."
