Florida — St. Joseph School in Florida will host an Open House during Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 28 to Feb. 3. The Open House will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Jan. 29, and from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m. weekdays during Jan. 30 to Feb. 3. Evening sessions will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 1 and 2. The week will include a variety of events for school families and visitors. Sister Kathleen Luppens, O.P., the principal, will be on hand to assist visitors considering a Catholic school education for their children. St. Joseph’s offers a small-school environment with an academic program. A “Science and Foreign Language Fair” will coincide with the evening sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. Students in grades 3 through 8 will display their science projects, while those in pre-kindergarten through grade 2 will display their foreign language projects. “Career Fun” will bring people, representing a variety of professions, to speak to the students about what they do in their careers. Students will then have the opportunity to participate in an essay contest on the careers that interest them. “Grandparents Luncheon,” an annual favorite, will host grandparents at a luncheon, joined by their grandchildren. In addition, the “Book Fair” will have a wide variety of books for purchase all week in the new library and computer lab. The open house will culminate with Teacher Appreciation Day, honoring St. Joseph’s faculty. St. Joseph School is located at 21 Glenmere Ave. in Florida. For more information, call 651-7873.
