St. Joe's scholarship drive, art auction raise $37,500

Florida - Over the past two months, St. Joseph School parents, faculty, and community members have raised $25,000 in scholarships to provide opportunities for needy students and additional $12,500 through a well-attended art auction. “We are very encouraged by the amount of money we were able to raise in a short period of time with our scholarship drive and are committed to building on this strong foundation,” Principal Kim McGinnis said. Al Rondon of Florida, chairperson of the art auction, was equally pleased: “The St. Joseph School family really came together contributing in a wide variety of ways to making the auction a success.” In addition to work by notable artists, artwork created by the St. Joseph School children contributed substantially to the funds raised. “It was a wonderful event in every aspect,” said Sue Tovey of Florida’s WTBQ radio. “There was a wide range of lovely artwork, a great auctioneer, delicious food, and people had a terrific time.”
