St. Anthony dedicates a new place of healing'

Warwick - St. Anthony Community Hospital dedicated its Center for Ambulatory Services Wednesday morning, the first part of its nearly $10 million expansion. The ceremony attracted many from Warwick’ civic, political and business communities, who toured 19 brand new private patient examining rooms, decorated only the day before with paintings and photos from the Warwick Art League. In her invocation, Sister Mary Lou Moran, the senior vice president for sponsorship for the Bon Secours Health System, called the new facility “a place of hope and healing.” The center also will be the place where people will come for same-day procedures such as cataracts, colonoscopies, gall bladder removal and other minor surgeries. It’s expected to open later this month. Following shortly after will be the opening of the new emergency department that will be twice the current size, a new medical and surgical unit on the fourth floor, and an expanded registration area, among other details.
