Irish Heritage Day, Saturday, March 17, at 2 p.m. Mrs. Sloat and Mr. Sloat of the Foggy Dew Irish Band will bring their lively music and puppets to help celebrate. Put on your dancing shoes. Touching All the Bases. Sunday, March 18, at 2 p.m Join Florida Historical Society members John Kimiecik and Bob Scott for a fun and surprising look at the history of minor league and county league baseball in the Village of Florida. Memorabilia, including an antique official Florida League baseball uniform, will be on display. The power point presentation is filled with photos of Florida baseball players, past and present. Knitting Circle. Monday, March 19, at 6 p.m. Bring along your own needles and yarn. Learn a new hobby or work on a current project. Knit or crochet, share tips and enjoy casual conversation. Help is available from expert knitter Siw Fritsch. For adults only. Books and Beyond, Tuesday, March 20, at 4 p.m. A Tuesday afternoon drop-in program for kids in grades K-5. A new subject is highlighted each week. On March 20, explore the Jungles of the World through books, painting and crafts. Pasta Primavera, Tuesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. Young adults (grade 6 and up) are invited to celebrate with food. Primavera means spring. Put together a pasta dish with fresh spring vegetables and then enjoy the dinner you have made. Adult Book Discussion, Wednesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. Check out a copy now of :The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards and sign up to attend our book discussion about this brilliantly crafted family drama and New York Times’ bestselling novel. Bookmaking, Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. Create a simple, attractive paper bag book of your own design with graphic artist Renie Garlick. Turn it into a scrapbook, a journal or write a story. All material will be supplied. This is a program for young adults (grade 6 and up) but adults are welcome to attend. Anime Café, Tuesday, March 27, at 6 p.m. The last Tuesday of the month is time to view a new anime film. Young adults in grade 6 and up are invited to see Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conquerer of Shamballa on the BIG screen. Popcorn and soda will be served.
