Wrestler Lucas Wightman is Warwick Valley High School's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

— Warwick Valley High School is proud to recognize senior Lucas Wightman as this week's "Student–Athlete of the Week" under the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate insurance Agency.
The senior wrestler is a four-year varsity starter and two-year captain with 16 wins (at the time of this article) so far during his senior year.
Lucas finished first at the New Rochelle Wrestling Tournament and placed eighth in the Prestigious Eastern States Tournament featuring the top wrestlers in the North East.
Lucas and his teammates will focus their energy on the Section 9 Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10 and 11, at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
Lucas is one of Warwick’s top student – athletes with a weighted average of 101.53.
He is currently ranked seventh in a class of 365.
He is enrolled in AP Calculus, AP Government and AP Literature his senior year (all for college credit).
Lucas, a four-year scholar–athlete, has narrowed his college choices to the University of Michigan and Duke University. He plans to study chemistry.
Lucas is the son of MaryAnn and John Wightman of Warwick. His brothers Mitchell (2011) and Thomas (2015) are both accomplished student–athletes and graduates of Warwick Valley High School.
