Wrestler Kyle Wierzbicki chosen as Warwicks Student-Athlete of the Week
WARWICK Kyle Wierzbicki has been selected as this weeks Warwick Valley High School Student-Athlete through the program sponsored by the Bill Garcia Allstate Insurance Agency.
The senior was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Section 9 Wrestling Championships at Monroe Woodbury. Kyle won his weight class (145 lbs.) and helped the Wildcats win the team title for the second consecutive year.
He was among the five section 9 champions from Warwick and will enter the state tournament with an overall record of 130–30, including two Section 9 individual titles.
Kyle has an average of 88 in his classes. He plans to study business and wrestle in college. He is being recruited by SUNY Cortland and Oneonta as well as Scranton and Towson as a student-athlete and wrestler.
Kyle is the son of Jill and Frank Wierzbicki of Warwick. His sister Ali is a sophomore at Warwick Valley High School.
