Wrestler Andrew Wierzbicki chosen as Warwick's 'Student-Athlete of the Week'

— Warwick Valley High School is proud to select senior wrestling standout Andrew Wierzbicki as the Bill Garcia Allstate "Student–Athlete of the Week" for the period ending Jan. 12.
Andrew has wrestled his way to an individual record of 16–3 this season at 195 pounds.
The two-sport standout (football and wrestling) recorded 50 tackles this year for the Division Champion Wildcats as well as eight tackles for loss as a team captain.
Andrew and the Wildcat Wrestling Team will be home Jan. 17 for a Senior Night home match versus Washingtonville.
Andrew’s 95 average this quarter earned him NYSPHSAA Scholar–Athlete Recognition.
His course load includes Advanced Placement Courses in Government, Environmental Science and the Orange Community College Calculus Course for College Credit.
Andrew plans to study civil engineering next year and has many options as a student–athlete including WPI, Maritime and the College of New Jersey where he has been recruited as a football player.
Andrew is the son of Tracey and Colleen Wierzbicki. His sister Taylor attends the University of Buffalo and his sister Sarah attends Binghamton University.
