Women's soccer league keeps score

    Washingtonville — The Orange County Soccer League for Women’s Recreational Soccer in Washingtonville began the 2006 indoor season on Friday, Jan. 20. Eight teams played a total of four games. The final scores and summary of each game played are: •Keltic House (Fishkill) vs. Optimized-Energy (Warwick) 3 : 4 Marie Cassels scored two goals, and Jessica Eichele scored one goal for Keltic House. Erika Bautz, Laura Farley, and Andrea DeCastro all scored goals for Optimized-Engery. Melinda McDonald and Andrea DeCastro excelled in goal. •Nannini & Callahan (Blooming Grove) vs. Cutting Edge (Montgomery) 8 : 0 Raja Abdulrahim played strong defense, and Gina Migliore worked hard at midfield for Cutting Edge, but it wasn’t enough to stop Nannini & Callahan. Cutting Edge welcomed newcomer Kimberly Hall to the league. Victoria Fleming, Gina Dudgeon, Leah Canton, Stefanie Bliss, and Noreen Nannini all scored goals for Nannini & Callahan. •Sweet Thoughts (Washingtonville) vs. Halligan’s Public House (Warwick) 9 : 2 Cathy Thompson and Jennifer Davis had three goals each, Beth Van Pelt had two goals, and Lisa Antona (subbing from Cutting Edge) had one goal for Sweet Thoughts. A good game was played by all. •The Copper Bottom (Florida) vs. Schlesinger’s (New Windsor) 3 : 3 Schlesinger’s took an early lead, but The Copper Bottom fought back to tie the score, and eventually take a lead. Susan Waddell, from Schlesinger’s, scored the game tieing goal (and two total for the game), with only minutes remaining, Hope Buck scored one goal. A very evenly matched game.
