    Washingtonville — Below are championship game scores for the Orange County Women’s Recreational Soccer League in Washingtonville. n August 15 Loughran’s (Salisbury Mills) vs. Callahan and Nannini (Blooming Grove) Final score: Callahan and Nannini automatic win by forfeit. The Callahan and Nannini team will move onto the semi-finals. Gary Goldberg Financial Services (Suffern) vs. Freedom Air (Montgomery) Final score: Gary Goldberg Financial Services 2, Freedom Air 1 With their heads held up high, and minds set on winning, Gary Goldberg Financial Services (GGFS) met Freedom Air head to head on the field for the first round of playoff games. Unfazed by their previous lost to Freedom Air, GGFS came on strong and never let up. Nothing deterred GGFS’ offense, Heather Galligan, Susan Lindsey, Sarah MacDonald, Melinda MacDonald and Diane Stevenson, from firing on Freedom Air’s goalie. GGFS’ defense proved they earned the right to be in the playoffs by only allowing one goal in the first half, which was scored by Maureen Ferrara from Freedom Air. GGFS’ Heather Galligan made herself known and tied the game with her fantastic shot on goal. Theresa Conlon, Jannine Barbosa, Lisa Jackson, Andrea DeCastro, and Diana MacLean constantly maintained a tight defense. Diana MacLean used this opportunity to show off her skills maneuvering the ball through Freedom Air’s offense as well as defense and into the net. This gave GGFS a lead, from which Freedom Air never recovered. The Gary Goldberg Financial Services team will move onto the semi-finals. n August 17 The Copper Bottom (Florida) vs. Dutchess County Final score: The Copper Bottom 5, Dutchess County 2 The Copper Bottom’s goals were scored by Sarah McBride (1), Gina Migliore (2), and Jillian Schweizer (2). This game was a huge win for The Copper Bottom, moving them from seventh place to the top four. All played a great game. The Copper Bottom team will move onto the semi-finals. Schlesinger’s Restaurant (New Windsor) vs. Halligan’s Public House (Warwick) Final score: Schlesinger’s Restaurant 6, Halligan’s Public House 0 The Schlesinger’s Restaurant team will move onto the semi-finals.
