Wildcats rebound with 52-26 win against Pine Bush

— After losing to Monroe-Woodbury 33-0 the week before, the Warwick Valley Wildcat varsity football team got back on track by defeating the Pine Bush Bushmen 52–26 in front of a home crowd of more than 4,000 last Friday night, Sept. 20.

Pine Bush came into the game ranked as high as second in many state polls, including MaxPreps.

The Wildcats were paced by Brad Garcia’s 345 yards rushing and five touch downs. Garcia completed a scoring pass to Phil Goska in the second quarter and Joe Smith scored a 60-yard touch down to finish off the Bushmen, who suffered their first loss of the season.

Davis Brief kicked a 47-yard field goal in the second quarter to give the Wildcats a 10–6 lead. The Wildcats never looked back.

Marshall Garcia intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Warwick improved to 2–1 overall and will take on Kingston for the 2013 homecoming game on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1:30 p.m. on C. A. Morgan Field.
