WARWICK — Kevin Kless, Warwick Valley High School class of 2006 graduate, had all of the qualities that are important in a young person:

He had a zest for life. He was fun and funny.

And he was a super student–athlete. He made the most of every day and his enthusiasm for life was contagious.

Kevin went on to graduate from Temple University and began a successful career in insurance in the Philadelphia area. But the Warwick community was shaken on Jan. 14, 2012, when news of his passing reach home.

On Monday, May 7, 250 people came to Rob Lattimer Baseball Field to celebrate the life of Kevin Kless - former baseball players, teachers, parents, community members and students. Some shared stories of a young man who always brought a smile to people’s faces.

Friend and former teammate Mike Conklin may have summarized Kevin’s personality best in a short story he shared: After striking out on three pitches during a varsity baseball game back in 2006, Kevin returned to the dugout and said, “We are all over this guy.”

So perhaps it was fitting that on Kevin Kless Day at Rob Lattimer Baseball Field, the Wildcats rallied in the 8th inning to defeat Minisink 7–6.

Kevin had a way of bring out the best in the people around him.
